Damaged Goods Workshops

February 26th, 2013 by Ian in News

Following the great performance of Damaged Goods by Facing Tides, students took part in a range of workshops.

Students produced a leaflet to help other people recognise the warning signs of being at risk and where to go to get help. They also made a page for this website and created these wonderful pieces of art.

Lynsay picked up to a snails pace today and created this rather interesting piece of work. Using a variety of techniques, she ‘customised some of the local wildlife and ‘photoshoped’ herself into the mix.

Bad taste? . . . the jury’s still out.

Dan, Billie and Phil played around with 3D sketching using ready-mades today. Dan was looking at theatrical design and so we played with the idea of masks. After looking at the work of film makers, Jeunet and Caro and the designer, Jean Paul Gaultier, we experimented in mask making and face dressing.

fun fun fun

Outreach Workshop

December 8th, 2010 by PhilS in Links for students

As part of our community outreach program, students and staff visited Countess Gytha Primary School today, to deliver an Imagineering inspired Balloon Racers workshop.

We made cars from recycled materials and balloons. It was a lot of fun and everybody had a great time.

Ionas was the overall winner for the longest distance, pipping Phoebe by a nose.

We love to do outreach work, if you are interested in a workshop, please give us a ring.

Sue made this lovely door plate in Art and DT

“I made a bit of paper with Mikayla written on it, made stencils from it, Phil helped me do the wood, then we painted it and put the stickers on. It wasn’t that hard. ” But it looks FANTASTIC

WooHoo Sue,¬†you’re on fire!

Product Design

October 14th, 2010 by PhilS in Links for students

Another fabulous piece of 3D modelling work from Becky today. The brief was to create a product design image for a small torch to appeal to young people. Becky designed an LED bullet shaped torch which looked like a rocket ship and the Rocket Torch was born. After exporting the final image she used her photo manipultion skills to add text and finish off an advertising brochure image. Multiple lights, reflective surfaces, shadows and transparent objects all combine to make a really effective scene.
