I think this is an excellent way forward to help our youngsters who happen to be going through a hard time at that poit in their lives….I hope the schools seize the initiative and realise their responsibilities.

    Well you can but hope

It’ll help everyone involved with the students – parents, schools, Social Services and other agencies and the students themselves – to realise there is a structure and a positive plan to their referral to us and will keep everyone focussed on the planned outcome.

For a long while schools viewed the referral to COOSS as the end of their involvement with their students. That has improved with Ian forging closer working relationships with the schools, but this programme takes it one step further and will make it harder for schools to absolve their responsibilities.

It deserves to work, for the students’ sakes.
