Cranborne in the snow

Jay, Jay, Carl, Chris and James have been helping to build a Viking longhouse at the Ancient Technology Centre in Cranborne. It’s a huge project involving lots of young people and using only the technology that would have been available in Viking times.

I went back there today to help K settle in, and although the weather wasn’t as spectacular as on that snowy day, it ‘s such an amazing place it still takes my breath away each time I go back. It’ll be amazing to see the Viking Longhouse finished, but also a bit sad, as it’s been such an emotive and demanding project and it’s beenfantastic to see it develop and know that our students had such a lot of involvement. I hope everyone can go and soon.
